Torchbox at DrupalCon Copenhagen
Torchbox's Team Drupal will be presenting two sessions at the 2010 Drupal conference, to be held at Copenhagen 23-27 August.
When we decided at Torchbox to send two members of Team Drupal—Rich Middleditch and me—to this year's DrupalCon Copenhagen, we wanted to make sure we made the most of it. We wanted to give as much back to the community as possible, but we also wanted to try to improve the experiences that we and our clients have with Drupal.
For our first goal we volunteered to present a session talk on how user personas can improve as many aspects of your Drupal development cycle as possible; also, how they can really ramp up the user experience on, and engagement with, your Drupal site. We were really proud to hear that our session had been voted onto the final timetable for Thursday afternoon.
But, workaholics that we are, we didn't stop there. So to help accomplish our second goal—improving the experiences our clients have with Drupal—Rich and I have also volunteered to run a round-table discussion: or, in Drupalcon terminology, a Birds-of-a-Feather or BOF session. This will be on Tuesday morning, and is intended for NGOs, not-for-profits and people working with such organisations.
We want not-for-profits to be able to pass on their experiences to each other, and hopefully in the BOF we can provide an environment where questions, worries, problems and general difficulties can all be aired, and then other people can chip in wih their experiences or advice. If it works, this should make life better for everyone involved.
To that end we hope our clients will have plenty of questions that we can pass on to the session, and then we could maybe return with some answers or at least some reassurance. Also, if you're at DrupalCon Copenhagen yourself, then you should come and say hi to either Rich or me. We'd love to chat about all aspects of Drupal development over a pastry, especially if it's a good pastry.
