MediSense Timetrak
Relationship
MediSense, Abbott Laboratories, is a leader in the development of products designed to help people better manage their diabetes.
MediSense UK approached us initially to add reporting facilities to their web-based timesheet management system, Timetrak.
Mission
Our initial development produced a suite of on-demand, customisable reports based on the timesheet data. These could be generated as HTML or Excel reports with tables and graphs.
Pleased with the time saved in comparison to having to do reports by hand MediSense asked us to take on development of the whole system. In the last two years the system has grown immensely and now provides a variety of services to simplify and speed up administrative workflow.
Solution
The original ASP code has been largely rewritten and the database optimised to improve the performance of Timetrak and allow it to scale better with its increased usage.
A brief summary of some of the features:
- Timesheet management with integrated approval and time sheet generation in a format that can be used directly by the finance department
- Management of projects carried out by departments
- Management of MediSense documentation - who needs to read what, by when
- Office status - overview of who's in or away from a department
- Extensive suite of real-time, on-demand, highly customisable reports. Some of these take a seconds to generate but would take a number of man-days to calculate by hand
An upcoming extension to Timetrak is the development of reporting tools for their purchase order system.
