Relationship
Torchbox became the lead digital media supplier to the Multiple Sclerosis Society after winning the open tender for the redevelopment of their site in 2001.

Mission
Our original challenge was to redevelop the website and implement a Content Management System. The visuals were created by design company Raven. The resultant site was relaunched in November 2001.

Since then, we have worked as strategic and develop partners with the MSS, helping them to produce one of the UK's leading charity websites.

Solutions
Improvements to the site, the implementation of RationalMedia, and programs to generate internal buy-in mean that the MSS site now has around 40 editors. These editors are people from all departments of the organisation, who publish information directly into the CMS - this is truly putting the publishing power in the hands of the content creators.

Additionally, the site now provides a truly inspiring online peer support community.

Traffic has increased by a factor of almost four in the last 17 months.

From being a peripheral concern 18 months ago, the website is now at the heart of the organisation's service delivery.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society website won 'Charity Internet Site of the Year' at the 2003 UK Charity Awards, and the BMA 'Best Patient Website' award in 2002.
