POhWER
Relationship
In May 2004 Torchbox was appointed by the advocacy agency, POhWER, to undertake two key projects: redevelopment of the POhWER website, and development of a case management system for POhWER advocates.
Mission
To redesign the organisational website, focusing on the needs of POhWER's key audience groups, and to deliver a web-based case management system that would enable advocates - for POhWER's generic advocacy work and for the East of England ICAS service - to effectively edit, monitor and report on their cases.
Solution
Powered by RationalMedia the new POhWER site offers an accessible, inclusive experience for all POhWER's audience groups, particularly those with vision, mobility or learning disabilities. In addition to clearly communicating to these users information about POhWER's work and values, and explaining who and how POhWER can help, the site also offers essential information in several community languages, including Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi and Cantonese.
The case management system, CLEAR, enables advocates working throughout the regions covered by POhWER to store, manage and report on their cases centrally, and to utilise an offline version of the system to update cases on their laptops for later synchronisation with the main database.
