Muscular Dystrophy Campaign launch
10 August 2004
Torchbox has launched a new website for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, which aims to be, “the most authoritative information source about neuromuscular conditions available on the Internet.”
The new site, powered by RationalMedia has been designed as an in-depth information resource that will appeal to: people with muscular dystrophy; their carers, friends, family; researchers and healthcare professionals; and anyone else requiring information about the condition.
Joe Korner, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Director of Corporate Affairs, said: “One of the most important services offered by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is to provide accurate, up to date information about the condition. We feel the website reflects the dynamism of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and our commitment to empowering people to use that information. This new website has been designed as a comprehensive source of information that anyone - from someone just diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition or the parent of a child with muscular dystrophy to an academic researching the condition, will find useful.”
The site features over 700 pages with more added daily covering 28 muscle wasting conditions and information about education, holidays, ventilation and management of muscular dystrophy and similar neuromuscular conditions.
Ian Bellchambers, Torchbox Account Director, said: "We wanted to help the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign connect with their website users and respond to their needs. The new site will be an invaluable resource for those affected by and working with muscular dystrophy, with improved access to information and services and, importantly, a place to share experiences with other people affected by Muscular Dystrophy."
