The One Planet campaign Footprint Calculator

We're proud to announce the launch of WWF's new environmental footprint calculator, which went live at the One Planet campaign summit on the 27th March.

This was an especially interesting project for us given our interest in all matters environmental. The calculator is part of WWF's One Planet campaign: if everyone in the world lived as we do in the UK, we'd need 3 planets to support us.

Users of the calculator are presented with a series of questions about their lifestyle, in the areas of food, travel, home and stuff.  The results are used to calculate their personal planetary score, along with  recommendations as to how they can bring that score down.

The project was completed to a very tight timescale, with just over 2 months from pitch to launch. It was developed using the Ruby on Rails framework.
