Olly Willans

Olly started Torchbox in April 2000 with Tom Dyson, a long-term web development associate. He has been developing digital media projects for over six years in the public, charity and commercial sectors.

Under Olly's guidance the company has grown organically into a stable and successful organisation. Torchbox has had notable successes within the client niche of the public and charity sectors in recent years, during which time we have produced a series of effective and winning sites; sites we, and our clients, are proud of.

Having joined OneWorld Online in 1995, in two short years Olly went from being the volunteer news editor to managing the organisation's relationship with its core funder British Telecom, a contact that led to Torchbox's involvement as a supplier for much of their charity Internet work, and the subsequent relationship with one of our biggest clients, Business in the Community.

Olly's primary professional interests and skills are in information architecture, online communities, knowledge management and strategic consultancy in digital media.

Olly directs the development of all our major projects and is Torchbox's lead creative and strategic consultant.

Olly is a member of the Information Architecture Institute, the British Web Design & Marketing Association and the UK Usability Professionals Association.
