ActionAid International
ActionAid's vision is a world without poverty in which every person can exercise their right to a life of dignity.
People are at the heart of ActionAid and this has been reflected throughout the design where possible. The new site has a bold, contemporary feel, designed to set ActionAid apart from other charities.
Photography is as central to the ActionAid brand as the logo or the colour red, and the design makes full use of the fantastic ActionAid image library. Large photos are used extensively to create a distinctive visual identity and help to humanise the site, showing the cross section of people involved with ActionAid, from the campaigners to the people in the communities they support.
There is also a lot of reactive content to help the site feel alive and active, and the focus on social media gives the site a strong sense of activity and buzz.
The multi-lingual International website, and associated sites for each of the individual country programmes, are managed with a single installation of the Drupal content management system.
This allows editors to easily share content between countries, and translate into any language required. It is also straightforward to add new country sites on the same platform.
